

STEP 1 : Start by catching the tying thread onto the hookshank.

STEP 2 : Catch in a bunch of Black cock hackle fibres, secure to the hook shank and trim waste, Try and keep the thread as uniform as possible.

STEP 3 : Catch in a length of Black Chenille and return the thread to a position a little way from the eye.

STEP 4 : At the thread position secure the chenille with thread and trim any waste.

STEP 5 : See the pinch and loop method for winging the fly. This is available from the main menu under techniques.

STEP 6 : Catch in a bunch of black hen or cock hackle fibres under the hookshank to create a neat underwing or beard.

Final : Create a neat head, whip finish and varnish.
